Catalyzing worker co-ops & the solidarity economy

Growing worker-owned solar company stays true to their pedal-powered beginnings

This has honestly been one of the most inspiring interviews with a cooperative business that we've had. The folks at Technicians for Sustainability (TFS) in Tucson, AZ clearly live their values and it shows. They founded their company more than ten years ago to make solar power a reality in Tucson. Their mission was to fight climate change and when they started they even powered their panel delivery using bicycles!

We spoke to Travis Kendall, worker-owner of TFS, about how the company has grown and how converting to a worker cooperative has helped keep their values in focus as they've scaled up to have an even bigger positive impact.
