A New Way to Invest in Your Neighbors

Seattle-based Community Sourced Capital, which has a platform for businesses to solicit micro-loans from community members, has opened a branch in Portland.

Since setting up shop in Portland in April, the company has run two campaigns that have successfully sourced loans for a pair of businesses. The first was Happy Cup Coffee, which raised $8,300 to open a small cafe within the North Precinct police station. The second campaign wraps up on Saturday with Plywerk, which has already hit its $15,000 minimum loan.
