People in the Wells County town of Bowdon are trying to raise money to buy the town`s grocery store so it can be run as a community cooperative. If the store closes, the town of 139 people would have to travel elsewhere to buy food. Meetings to raise money are being held this week. The interim cooperative board wants to raise over $62,000 to buy the store, an adjoining locker plant and the inventory. The co-op took over the store operation last month after one of its owners died.
