Apply for CoFED's 2015 Summer Institute

CoFED's Summer Institute is a week-long intensive training in July, designed to equip teams with the tools and strategies necessary to create community-based food solutions in or around their campus. This program will be open to a range of teams, from idea-stage start-ups through existing co-ops seeking to refine or scale-up their enterprise. It will create a supportive community in which to learn and build cooperatives together! Here's a sampling of things you will learn:

  • Systemic Analysis: Explore the basics on food justice, racial justice, and economic justice theory and practices with which to ground your work.
  • Tools to Build Momentum: See how to lead, organize, find, and grow common ground with your campus community.
  • Cooperative Business Development: Experience the ins and outs of what it will take to launch a cooperatively-run food business. (consensus building, governance, marketing, financial planning, operations and business planning, and much more)
  • Project-Specific Assistance and Planning: Receive tailored assistance on your project's most pressing needs and an additional 10 hours of free technical assistance available during the Fall Semester.
