Catalyzing worker co-ops & the solidarity economy

Worker Co-ops Rally at NYC City Hall

Alright! We're on! It's time for a HUGE TURNOUT at City Hall on Wednesday, February 25 at 9:30 AM

Please RSVP at: www.nycworker.coop/cityhall

We will be driving home our support for passage of Intro 423––a bill that will require New York City to report on the amount of goods and services it purchases from worker cooperative businesses. In fiscal year 2013, New York City procured more than $16.5 billion worth of supplies, services, and construction, through more than 40,500 transactions. This bill is a first step in assessing how more New York City dollars can flow through worker cooperative businesses––and thereby build more jobs for worker-members.

The press conference begins at 10 AM––and should be over by 10:45 AM. But, we strongly advise that you arrive early to navigate the entrance to the City Hall Steps and security. The New York City Council is located at City Hall and 250 Broadway. You can enter from either the west side of the park at Broadway and Murray Street or the east side at Park Row. You must go through security before entering City Hall so please allow for extra time and bring photo identification. Good subway stops include: A/C to Chambers Street, 2/3 to Park Place, 4/5/6 to Brooklyn Bridge - City Hall, R to City Hall, and J/Z to Chambers Street.

Thank you so much,

New York City Network of Worker Cooperatives
